KiBar, cybernetic bar

KiBar is an information and communication point, a working and social space open on weekdays between 9 a. m. and 10 p. m., and on Saturdays between 4 p. m. and 10 p. m. The events, activities and happening in KiBar are closely related to the program of the adjacent gallery – KiBela, Space for Art, as well as to most of the programs that are conducted as part of the Multimedia Center KIBLA (MMC KIBLA).

KiBar is a space for contemporary electronic media, often occupied in the evening hours by various kinds of computer geeks, hackers, gamers, etc., and with AV events, projections, artistic performances, various thematic and literary evenings, festivals, children's workshops, lectures, round tables, presentations and exhibition openings of contemporary art taking place all year long; a place of discussing current issues related to the field of culture in general, to social sciences and the humanities, to advanced technologies and to formal and non-formal educational activities.

The KiBar cyber cafe provides several computer terminals with access to internet, as well as a WiFi broadband wireless internet connection. The terminals also offer a selection of video games for Saturday afternoon gaming sessions and workshops. During working hours, our kind staff members will be happy to assist you with anything you need.

Traditional media are not excluded either you can read a newspaper, or see a contemporary visual art exhibition in KiBela Gallery. A special spot is always reserved for showcasing one of the more recent works by Slovenian painter Marko Jakše.
The KiBar cyber cafe
leans against the tradition of European reading clubs at the end of the 19th century, and cybernetic reading clubs of the 21st century global village. Our visitors are high school and university students, intellectuals, artists, computer freaks, people working in various cultural spheres, businessmen, and pensioners. We must not forget that the structure of visitors until today has been very diverse: ranging from 0 to 100 years of age, our guests are of various nationalities, races, social statuses, sexual orientations and educational levels

There is also always a place for all those just looking for a cozy spot where they can have a cup of tea or coffee, or taste selected Slovenian wines. While having your drink, you may want to skim through one of the daily newspapers, or grab a book from the reference library (art & art theory). We also offer a wide selection of beers, draft and bottled, local and imported. In addition, we provide caterings for our visitors, artists, and guests at art show opening and other events. In KiBar, the local and global cultures are always intertwining.
