The poetry of Mila Kačič put to music – Katja Šulc with band

Tuesday 2 November at 7.30 pm - the concert of poetry by Mila Kačič put to music. The initial talk with Katja Šulc was followed by the concert of Katja Šulc with support band. The conversation was hosted by Simona Kopinšek.

Mila Kačič is considered on of the most renowned and loved female poets of Slovenian origin. Her poetry, almost folk-like, is full of melody and intoxicating rhythms. Her poetry speaks straight from the heart and straight to the heart, it is intimate, emotion-laden poetry. And so is her music, intertwining a narrative chanson, soft jazz and playful rhythms. The project has been created by the singer Katja Šulc who made a selection of poems and invited musicians to cooperate.

Katja Šulc – vocals
Jelena Ždrale – violin
Nino de Gleria – bass
Blaž Celarec – percussions, drums
Drago Ivanuša – accordion

ACE KIBLA programme is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Municipality of Maribor and The Slovenian Office of Youth. KIBLA is a part of Multimedia Centres Net Slovenia.

The programme has been supported by the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Book.
