Poetry evening with Jan Cvitkovič and Feo Volarič

Tuesday 24th February, MMC Kibla - a poetry evening with Jan Cvitkovič who recently published his first poetry collection Lačna žival (Hungry animal), and Feo Volarič, whose anthology of poetry T'guwrš od t'grš was published last year to celebrate his 60th anniversary. The talk was hosted by Simona Kopinšek. Another guest was the editor of both poetry collections,  Zdravko Duša.

Jan Cvitkovič: LAČNA ŽIVAL (Hungry animal)
The director and scenographer known to Slovenia and the world of films, Jan Cvitkovič has taken up a new art genre - poetry at the incentive of his friends. Hungry animal is a collection of 66 poems that have been piling in Cvitkovič's archive for two decades. The number of poems is no coincidence as  Jan Cvitkovič was born in 1966. Cvitkovič does not fly high, but speaking from the earth tells about the poems being in a way his biography or moments taken from his life and conditions translated to paper. The editor Zdravko Duša is happy to say that the poetry collection by Jan Cvitkovič is th  first title to have been published by Myra Locatelli alone. As the publisher he knows and tells aloud that the works made in the Tolmin region are better than any other Slovenian works, at least for him.

Ivan Volarič-Feo: T'GUWRŠ OD T'GRŠ
The poet and singer-songwriter Feo Volarič celebrated his 60th anniversary in September last year. It was him to whom Lukatelce was dedicated, an event organised by Myra Locatelli society in Volče at Tolmin at the end of summer. To celebrate the event, Cankarjeva založba published an antholog  of Feo's songs from his beginnings until today, including the concrete and visual poetry as well as reflexive and more intimate lyrical poems. The collection titled T'guwrš od t'grš was published within the imprint Poezija (poetry), edited by Zdravko Duša. It is accompanied by the CD Zimbabve wit  recordings of poetry set to music, which was recorded by FEO and the bands The Schmidt's, Salamandra Salamandra and Hišni bend.
