Conversation with Rastko Močnik about Julija and the men she inspired

WHEN: Thursday, 1st of March 2007 at 8.30 pm
WHERE: MMC Kibla, Kneza Koclja 9, 2000 Maribor

The conversation with Rastko Močnik was, despite the short delay, commemoration of Slovenian Cultural Holiday and at the same time the announcement of the International Women's Day. Stories about men from Slovenian cultural history who were in the last 140 years inspired by Julija to the extent of writing scientific studies, interpretations and discussions about her were told. While they were trying to explain her connection with Prešeren’s poetry and life destiny, they shaped Slovenian cultural mythology.
The insecurity whether the interest in Julija is of scientific, state or social concern guaranteed an interesting conversation, not just about literary history.

The conversation was moderated by  Igor Kramberger.
