Gregor Strniša: UNIVERSE - celebration of the 75th birth Anniversary

Gregor Strniša, an exceptional Slovene lyrist of the 20th century was born on the 18th of November, 1930.

To commemorate his 75th birth anniversary, Kibla's bookstore Za:misel prepared a literary evening in which Peter Boštjančič read a part of the poet's reflections on his own writing as they were written down at the time of publishing his poetry collection Vesolje (Universe). The same reflections were also published in the second issue of Interpretacije (Interpretations), which was dedicated to the poet.

Our guest was also Jože Hudeček who, through a discussion, introduced to us Gregor Strniša as an author and a thinker, that is from a slightly different point of view to that which we are used to by just reading his poems.

Poetry reading followed and we concluded the evening by listening to Slovene evergreens, the lyrics of which were mostly written by Gregor Strniša. The music was chosen by DJ Đomba.
