Monika Pocrnjić at the Circuit Control Festival 2025
Monika Pocrnjić at the Circuit Control Festival 2025 8-13 September 2025 Circuit Control 2025, Neues Volkshaus Cotta, Dresden, Germany
Monika Pocrnjić is currently presenting her research installation at the interface of life and technology at the Circuit Control Festival 2025, organized by the collective Metaknoten e.V., a network of international artists, engineers, musicians, programmers and free spirits. The festival, which takes place in Dresden from 8 to 13 September 2025, is known as a gathering of multimedia artists and enthusiasts, where DIY culture, art, music and programming form an open platform for knowledge exchange and networking among international makers.
In her project, Pocrnjić explores hybrid forms that combine living materials (plants) with technology. Based on her experience in experimental theater, she builds stage sets and puppets that function like living beings with the help of electronics — like a “Frankenstein apparatus” that is creative even in the absence of a creator.
During the festival, the network will work on developing experimental devices for glitch effects from webcams. This will allow them to create an interesting interaction between the animate and the inanimate, the artist and the autonomy of the machine. The event is a great opportunity to exchange practices with people working at the interface of technology, science and art.
