MMC KIBLA

Dear all,

the year has come around and we are welcoming the fifth season of the Literary break-fast cycle. So far we have hosted some splendid literary names and we plan to continue with this tradition by inviting prominent literary creators.

We are kindly inviting you to our first Literary break-fast this year, that will take place on Thursday, 30 September, at 7 p.m. at MMC KIBLA. Our guest will be Ana Pepelnik, a two-time nominee for the Veronika Award. The discussion will be moderated by Tonja Jelen.

Ana Pepelnik is a poet and a translator. Her first poetry collection Ena od varijant kako ravnati s skrivnostjo (Prišleki, LUD Literatura) was published in 2007. Two years later, in 2009, her second book entitled Utrip oranžnih luči na semaforjih was published by the same publishing house, while her last book Cela večnost was released in 2013. In 2015, the Šerpa publishing house (zbirka Luda Šerpa) published her fourth poetry collection Pod vtisom, in 2017 the fifth collection entitled Tehno and in 2021 the Treš collection. She translates poetry of America’s younger as well as older generation of poets, such as Joshua Beckman, Matthew Zapruder, Matthew Rohrer, Noelle Kocot, Jennifer Clement, as well as Sylvia Plath, James Tate, James Schuyler, Elizabeth Bishop, Wallace Stevens and Walt Whit. Her translation (together with Matthew Rohrer) of Tone Škrjanc's book Koža/Skin was published in the USA. As a poet, she participated in the international project Metropoetica (under the mentorship of the Welsh poet Zoë Skoulding), as a speaker at the impro trio CPG Impro, and as a poet and speaker at the Poetrix project, which is the audio product of musician and sound creator, Jake Berger - Brgs.

We kindly ask you to adhere to all the RVT rules.
