KIBLIX 2026 | Nejc Trampuž: Last Chance Tours
Nejc Trampuž: Last Chance Tours 13 November–12 December 2026 MMC KIBLA/KiBela
You are cordially invited to the opening of intermedia artist Nejc Trampuž's exhibition Last Chance Tours, which will take place on Friday, 13 November 2026, at 7 p.m. at KiBela, space for art.
Last Chance Tours is a speculative, immersive new media project by Slovenian artist Nejc Trampuž, framed as an underground travel agency operating in the 2080s. Across a mesh network, the agency sells forbidden holiday packages and black-market border crossings into five sealed societies that have replaced modern nations.
These closed worlds emerged from the Information War of the 2030s. In 2037, the conflict escalated when three high-altitude nuclear blasts destroyed the global internet with electromagnetic pulses (EMPs). With shared networks gone and social trust shattered, leaders raised “cognitive curtains” and severed external data lines. Old nations dissolved and regrouped into Affinity States, clustered by belief rather than geography. Decades of total isolation pushed each into a radical extreme: automated luxury enclaves, corporate algorithmic-control states, anti-tech religious communes, solar commons, and chaotic scrap-repair war zones.
Trampuž creates these travel destinations by transforming real 360-degree Google Maps street views into speculative photomontages set decades in the future. In the gallery, mock booking websites play on TV screens with upbeat travel pitches, a holographic projection displays a fractured globe, and VR headsets immerse visitors in street-level scenes accompanied by soundscapes. Outside the gallery, Trampuž uploads traveler reviews and speculative imagery back into live Google Maps, inserting photographic evidence of the future into today’s infrastructure.
By wrapping crisis zones, theocracies, solarpunk societies, and corporate monopolies in upbeat vacation marketing, Last Chance Tours anchors today’s information bubbles and political polarization in five tangible physical futures.
