Sašo Sedlaček: Scrounger, robot for the socially deprived

Between the 8th and the 12th of May 2006, during the MFRU festival (International festival of computer art in organized by Youth Cultural Centre Maribor –MKC) festival we presented in co-production with MFRU Slovenian robot Scrounger, the work of Sašo Sedlaček from Ljubljana.
Scrounger, the robot for socially deprived people, performs in the name of the socially deprived and so assures them anonimity and the basic human dignity. It enters into environments which are inaccesible to beggars, where the better-off gather and are enabled to communicate with marginalized only with the help of technological intermediary in a safe distance.
It tapped for money the consumers in a computer synthetized Slovenian in Kibla and on Glavni trg.
