Performable sound-image constellation ENOTA.739 (UNIT.739)

Gallery KiBela in Multimedia centre Kibla hosted the artistic duo son:DA. This time son:DA presented their new project enota.739. Constellation lasted from 19 to 29 November 2004.

The opening took place on Friday, 19 November 2004 at 7 pm!
Son:DA presented the project on Friday, 26 November 2004 at 8 pm!

The world of digital technologies, electronic sounds and images represents son:DA's natural environment. But their work is not about fascination over endless possibilities offered by new technologies. It is about critical and ironic expression towards such fascination. Endless multiplication of new technologies and their effects transforms into noise, while the actual physical space is filled with cables, wires and computers that were recently considered top technology. Works of tandem son:DA are often intentionally simple and retained, since they sometimes use basic technical capacities, which emphasise the feeling of “underground”. (by Igor Zabel)

- mutual connection between two young artists, coming from Maribor: Miha Horvat and Metka Golec;
- they use different media, techniques, materials, and they deal with sound experiments, space experiments and moving pictures;
- in their artistic projects they include actors and musicians, who co-create final image. These are Primož Bezjak, Samo Pečar, Miha Ciglar;
- independent exhibitions: Gallery Kapelica – Hidden.reality (2002), Porschehof&Kunstverein (Salzburg) – installation A2 (2003), KiBela – installation enota003 (2003), Gallery Meduza – installation enota 241 (2004);
- son:DA in 2003 fascinated Mr. Harald Szeemann and was chosen to participate at the exhibition Blood and Honey – the future lies in Balkan, presented in the famous collection Essl (Sammlung Essl) in Vienna.
