Manifestation of the Paraliterary Association I.D.I.O.T.MMC KIBLA, 21.02.2014
With the double release of our magazine - the regular edition of IDIOTX and the first issue of IDIOT BALKAN - you are kindly invited to join us on Friday, 21 February 2014 at 9pm at the MMC KIBLA, for a Manifestation of the Paraliterary Association I.D.I.O.T., accompanied by a selection of readings by authors Jasmin B. Frelih, Jan Krmelj, Tibor Hrs Pandur, Uroš Prah and Rok Korošec, and music by KALU.
The IDIOT BALKAN magazine is a result of collaborative efforts of the local centers for young literature, akin to the Slovenian IDIOT: the editors and co-workers of the internet newspaper Agon (Serbia), dedicated to contemporary poetry, the Proletter portal for eavesdropping on poetry and prose (Montenegro), the Bosnian info-channel Književnost.org and the Croatian writers, who are currently in the process of forming their own portal, have all worked together with IDIOT to compile a selection of texts by twenty-two authors. Uroš Prah and Tibor Hrs Pandur are editors-in-chief of this number, while the extended editorial board also includes Karlo Hmeljak, Monika Vrečar, Jasmin B. Frelih, Goran Karanović, Vladimir Đurišić, Danijel Jedriško, Bojan Savić Ostojić and Ivan Antić.
The 10th issue of I.D.I.O.T. magazine presents texts under a common topic of "ECONOMICS IS ART", and was created under the lead of this issue's editor-in chief Jasmin B. Frelih, while the editorial board also consisted of Uroš Prah, Tibor Hrs Pandur, Karlo Hmeljak and Monika Vrečar. The issue features authorial works by Klara Otorepec, Karl Hmeljak, Blaž Iršič, Monika Vrečar, Rok Korošec, Jan Krmelj, Tomaž Šalamun, Tibor Hrs Pandur, Maša Močnik, Tomaž Grušovnik and Jasmin B. Frelih, as well as translations of works by Thomas Pynchon, David Foster Wallace (both translated by Jasmin B. Frelih), Bojan Savić Ostojić (translated by Karl Hmeljak), Ezra Pound, Allen Ginsberg and Suheir Hammad (all three translated by Tibor Hrs Pandur).
I.D.I.O.T. is a paraliterary group, which gives performances combining poetry/prose and music, and publishes a newspaper (with the same name) devoted to poetry, prose, theory and drama. The first issue was published in April 2009 and has had a minimum of two releases each year since then. Anyone is welcomed to join us at any time.
