Presentation of projects in MMC KIBLA

Presentation of projects in MMC KIBLA:  Mobile Institute and Audio Gruppe / Wednesday 15 Dec 2010, MMC KIBLA

By holding a public presentation, we wish to encourage considerations of such projects within the European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012. Representatives / members of Maribor 2012 public institute were invited to participate in discussion.

Jonathan Sullam presented interdisciplinary collective Mobile Institute from Brussels and their projects. The Mobile Institute collective develops spectacular urban interventions, which are squeezed in the cityscape by means of monumental interventions, thus changing its meaning.
Urban interventions are of exceptional importance to reach wide audiences – and despite demanding high financial and organisational input, it pays off in terms of promotion.

Benoit Maubrey presented a history of sound clothes and art projects of Audio Gruppe. Benoit Maubrey is the director of DIE AUDIO GRUPPE a Berlin-based art group that build and perform with electronic  clothes, or electro-acoustic clothes and dresses  (equipped with amplifiers and loudspeakers) that make sounds by interacting thematically and acoustically with their environment.
