EL CHE – Testimonials from Guevara family archives

Friday 3rd April 2009 at 7 pm, Kibar - the opening of the exhibition of photographs EL CHE – Testimonials from Guevara family archives.  The exhibition was launched by Neva Zajc, director of Primorska summer festival.

Che Guevara was a human rights advocate for the poor, a medical, guerrilla leader and politician. Fighting against military regimes he wanted to spread the revolutionary movement across the Latin America. However, he was defeated in Bolivia in 1967.

Materials to be exhibited have been provided by custodians of family heritage, dr. Maria Victoria Guevara and the second wife of Ernesto's father Ana Erra Guevara Lynch. They selected photographs and other materials, and designed the concept. Not only does the exhibition display Che Guevara's revolutionary path, but also his youth, which he spent with his family in Cordoba hills, Argentina. Listening to stories of Spanish republican exiles he learned about the heroic fight of the Spanish nation during the Civil War, and with poetry written by poets who supported their fight.

The exhibition has been organised in cooperation with Primorska summer festival.

The exhibition will be on display in Kibar until 18th April 2009.
