KIBLIX 2026 | CPG Impro: 45' for Silence
CPG Impro: 45' for Silence A Sound and Poetry Performance and Conversation on the Art of Listening Wednesday, 28 October 2026, at 6 p.m. MMC KIBLA
Join us on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, at 6 p.m. at MMC KIBLA for an evening of listening to what we usually fail to hear.
We will present CPG Impro’s 45' for Silence, a sound and poetry performance by three established Slovenian artists: Primož Čučnik, Ana Pepelnik, and Tomaž Grom. The project draws on the artistic legacy of John Cage, one of the most influential composers and thinkers in twentieth-century experimental music, whose work reshaped our understanding of music.
45' for Silence is both a tribute to composer and writer John Cage and an experimental exploration and practical application of his ideas. Through readings from his writings, vinyl playback of his compositions, and various chance-based methods, CPG Impro challenges established notions of music and listening. In 2025, the collective released the album The Ear Is the Most Attentive Sense (Institute Sploh), which presents excerpts from recordings of their work from 2011 and 2025.

How to Listen to Silence: John Cage Today Presentation of the book Silence and discussion
This accompanying event centers on the presentation of the Slovenian translation of John Cage’s Silence (LUD Šerpa, 2025), regarded as one of the foundational works of contemporary artistic thought. In this book, Cage explores the relationships between sound, silence, chance, and creativity.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion of the book, Cage’s ideas, and their influence on contemporary art, featuring the book’s translators and co-publishers, Primož Čučnik and Ana Pepelnik, who are also members of CPG Impro. The discussion will be moderated by Tonja Jelen, literary critic and moderator. More than just a book presentation, the event offers an opportunity – and an invitation – to rethink our understanding of music and art in general.
The program is intended both for those well-versed in contemporary art and for curious newcomers eager to discover the world of experimental music and poetry.
