You are cordially invited to the opening of Lila Prap’s solo exhibition, DINOSAURS, BIRDS, DRAGONS, and CHICKENS, which will be held on Friday, 24 April 2026, at 6 p.m. at the artKIT exhibition space.
Lila Prap trained as an architect and went on to work in an architectural firm, an urban planning practice, a technical secondary school, and in a design department – before ultimately realizing that creating original picture books for children is her true calling.
She has produced numerous picture books, translated into 40 languages, and has received awards both in Slovenia and internationally. Her book Why? was adapted into a series of cartoons in Japan, making Lila Prap a recognized brand.
She has received awards and nominations for her stories, visual expression, and design. Her illustrations have been exhibited in prestigious galleries in Slovenia and abroad.
On this occasion, she presents illustrations from three books that share a common theme: chickens.
Chickens are, in fact, descendants of dinosaurs, relatives of all kinds of birds, and even ancestors of dragons. Through the eyes of a chicken, we can explore the rich imaginative world of nature – and, above all, the boundless scope of human imagination.
