INVITATION (PDF) ABOUT THE EXHIBITION (PDF)
Nina Šulin’s artistic oeuvre is a fairy-tale world filled with tiny wonders, revealed through gently toned watercolor scenes of little mice. The artist’s imaginative sensitivity and strong lyrical touch create the enchanted townscape of the Mouse Hollow. These intimate visual illustrations offer glimpses into everyday city life – scenes of small daily tasks and moments of quiet homeliness, imbued with fairy-tale refinement and the subtle aesthetic of creative gentleness. The watercolors serve as delicate visual miniatures: from softly shaded leaves to finely crafted details, they attest to a refined imagination guiding each composition. Within them is a quiet attentiveness to the world of small creatures, where the ordinary is elevated into magical moments marked by the artist’s thoughtfulness, lyrical enchantment, and visual grace.
The exhibition A World Full of Small Miracles is a mosaic of small mouse illustrations, an installation of house façades from the fairy-tale town of Mouse Hollow, and illustrations that come to life within butai – kamishibai storytelling boxes that are part of the kamishibai stories by theater dramaturg and storyteller Metka Damjan.
