Animated Women

Animated Women
Group AR exhibition of animated portraits
30 September–3 October 2021
artKIT, Glavni trg 14, Maribor

In the scope of the StopTrik Festival we invite you to the opening of the exhibition, which will take place on Thursday, 30 September, at 6 p.m. at the artKIT gallery.

Animated Women
aims to give established and emerging female-identifying animators a broader display. It is an exhibition that showcases, celebrates and elevates female excellence in animation with animated self-portraits of professional artists from around the world. It shifts the old practice of self-portraiture into modern times of pocket computers and combines animation practices with the latest technology. The Animated Women portraits are pushing and expanding the traditional, curious, playful and fun to discover; the portraits come to life with an augmented reality layer.

Participating animators:
Veronica Solomon, Stavrina Kykalou, Wendy Wever, Žoel Kastelic, Milly Milkjovic, Ana-Maria Mihailidis, Marie Cattiaut, Keren Or Zelingher, Elly Stern, Ana Krklec, Marina Lisasuain, Julie Martin, Marie Paccou, Merike van de Vijver, Bibi Erjavec, Camille Bovey, Parisa Karimi, Nathalia Okimoto, Olivia Marie Valdez, Živa Divjak, Ines Pagniez, Anja Paternoster, Ana Vallejo, Andrada Icobet
