Ferus Mustafov - music workshop & concert

Kibla Association for Culture and Education organised a music workshop conducted by Ferus Mustafov, the king of Roma music from Macedonia, that took place from 29 March to 2 April 2010. As the workshop concluded, Ferus Mustafov performed accompanied by workshop participants in Kibla Multimedia Centre on Saturday 3 April 2010 at 9 pm.

The music workshop was held in KIT (Glavni trg 14) between 3 pm and 8 pm. Participants were able to upgrade their knowledge of playing the accordion, synthesizer, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar and drums.

It was by the merit of King Ferus Mustafov, the king of Macedonian clarinet and saxophone playing at weddings between Chicago, Gothenburg, Dortmund, Skopje and Sydney, that the music from Balkan Roma parties has penetrated the Slovenian ethnic scene. His first excellent performance in Slovenia happened in 1991 as a great surprise at the Druga godba festival in Ljubljana. In mid-1990's his eclectic rush through oriental čoček, Macedonian hora, Bulgarian kopanica, Slovenian polka and Latin American rumba was also discovered by Western European music producers and festival organisers.
