Nature is supposed to be the exact opposite of the virtual, the artificial, the engineered, and the human-made. And indeed, one of the many lessons that can be drawn from the pandemic is that technology is a very poor substitute for direct contact with nature. But could science and technology help us relate to elements of nature that are long lost? Those that we have no other means to experience and grasp? Several artists and designers worldwide are using science, virtual reality, and other technologies to “bring back to life” – in one form or another – extinct animals or plants and even landscapes from bygone geological periods. Ironically, their research and experiments convey both a poignant sense of loss and the hope that life that has vanished is not lost forever. At least not entirely…

The panel will be live streamed here: https://2020.kiblix.org/streaming/. For questions and comments, you will be able to use the chat window on the right side of the screen.
