Radio strategy workshop – public space mapping across the ether

Radio strategy workshop – public space mapping across the ether
mentor: Simon Macuh
MMC KIBLA, Wednesday, 14 November 2018, at 7 p.m. and on Thursday, 15. November, 10–3 a.m.

KIBLIX 2018

Among the issues associated with radio strategy research, paradigms of content and form interchange, and sometimes even quite enthusiastic attempts of re-creating radio phenomena. The workshop following the presentation focuses on this fact by searching for urban public spaces (shops and other premises or businesses), where radio content can still be heard. It looks into the way this content is present, what it serves, how it co-creates the public space, and so on. In short, the workshop is about mapping the FM radio landscape in public space. To make it more interesting, technology (radio receivers, Raspberry Pi, smartphones) will be used to perform some simple interventions into the public radio space. The workshop is suitable for students from the fields of humanism, art or technology, for enthusiasts in these areas, as well as for anyone interested in intermedia approaches, the medium of radio, and public space. Generally suitable for persons age 18 or over.
