Literary break-fast: Kristina Kočan

Book presentation: S|PREHOD (Litera publishing house)
MMC KIBLA, Wednesday, 22 May 2019, at 7 p. m.

Welcome to a spring of good reads.

You are hereby kindly invited to attend our springtide Literary break-fast with Kristina Kočan, on Wednesday, 22 May 2019, at 7 p. m.,  at the MMC KIBLA in Maribor.

The discussion with the author will be moderated by Tonja Jelen.

Kristina Kočan (1981) is a poet, writer and translator with a PhD in contemporary American poetry. Her first poetry collection Šara / Junk (Litera, 2008) was nominated for Best Debut Award. All three of her poetry collections, the other two titled Kolesa in murve / Bicycles and Mulberries and Šivje / Stitching, have been well received by readers as well as critics. Her poems are often upgraded at the music level by means of various performances. Just recently, Litera publishing house released Kristina's multimedia book entitled S|PREHOD, in which her poetry is accompanied by photographs of Maribor taken by Bojan Atanaskovič, and sound recordings turned into music by the poet herself, Denis Jančič, Samo Šalamon and Vasko Atanasovski, while Kristijan Robič designed the cover.

Literary break-fast is organized by the X-OP Association for Contemporary Art with partners as part of the international collaboration project Druge besede / Other Words, a literary circle for small and minority languages in Europe.

Kindly welcome. Admission free.
