Soft Control – Art, Science and the Technological Unconscious
Unconscious interference: art and science practices
21. 10. 2012
Biblioteca da Sociedade
Martins Sarmento
Guimaraes, Portugal

Unconscious interference: art and science practices as first draft action of Soft Control – Technological Unconscious in Portugal. It is a prelude shaped as an exploratory work, with a cross-work of diverse artistic and technological experiences.
The participants in this action are agents from the different project network co-organisers.
The Soft Control project seeks to develop the concept of “Unconscious Technology” (as explained initially by the curator Dmitri Bulatov) being represented in Portugal by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto. The project addresses the artistic creation as research exploratory approach on the presence and gradual penetration of technology in the daily human unconscious. The project is based on a series of laboratory/ experimental spaces across Europe, which acts as “nodes” in a network of exchange of agents and exhibitions.
