Participatory planning workshop

Participatory planning workshop
Open Art Space in KIBLA PORTAL

16–18 October 2025
KIBLA PORTAL, Valvasorjeva 40, Maribor, Slovenia

The OASis project is building a network of free and open creative spaces across Europe. One of the two key modules of the project involves open art spaces, specifically the creation of 13 interdisciplinary art venues in 10 countries as contemporary models of open art centers that combine local context with international exchanges and are based on a participatory planning and management format. The module includes both the creation of OASis oases based on existing art venues as well as in locations that have never been used for artistic purposes.

We are very happy to invite you to take part in the joint planning of the Open Art Space (OASis) that we hope to be an independent, friendly, safe place for local organizations, neighbours, international artists and everybody else.

How to participate:
1. Take part in the survey – this will help us with planning OASis in Maribor. We ask for your honest opinions. The results of this survey will help us better plan this new space for Maribor. Don't worry about spelling mistakes - what matters more is what you want. The survey is anonymous and will take you 5 to 15 minutes, find the link below.

2. Take part in live (on-site) workshops (address: Valvasorjeva 40) – they will be co-led by an international team of experts and practitioners in participatory planning. Fill out the form below (the number of places is limited). The workshop will be conducted in English, 4 hours each day.
