WORKING THE WEB Workshop

From 12th to 15th May 2008 in the premises of Communication information point (KIT) KIBLA, Glavni trg 14, Maribor - Working the Web Workshop.

WORKING THE WEB workshop is a combination of theory of practice within production phases of researching and documenting artistic contents.
The four-day workshop introduced to the participants the complete phases of researching and documenting within the production process of an artistic project using the most advanced internet tools.
The final result of the workshop are integral solutions in the field of researching and documenting a particular artistic project (or more of them).
Research findings , workshop results and the theory will be presented publiclly when the workshop finishes.

Andrew Morrison is the Leader of Communication Design Group in InterMedia intedisciplinary research centre at the University of Oslo. His reserach fields include multimodality, performativity, mobility, mediating artifact, communication design, participatory design. He is also a member of Programme Scientific Committee within the South Africa-Norway Programme executed by the Research Council of Norway. Between 2001-2002 he was the coordinator for Communication in the Technology, Culture network (KTK) at the University of Oslo. In years 1986-1998 he lectured at the Linguistics Department, University of Zimbabwe, between 1998-2000 he was a part-time lecturer at the School of Communication, Roskilde University in Denmark. He performed his doctoral research at the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo in years 1994-2000. He has been a freelance academic, education and media designer and editor since 1986.

The workshop is part of the gRIG project (Guild for Reality integrators and generators), supported by the EU education and culture programme.
