ABOUT THE EXHIBITION (PDF)
EXHIBITED ARTWORKS (PDF)

The exhibition At the Same Time presents the latest artistic production of Katarina Toman Kracina, consisting mainly of paintings and spatial objects of smaller format. Paintings painted with acrylic on canvas in various formats and smaller three-dimensional wall objects together form a visual poetic ensemble that illuminates scenes of rest, play and often overlooked everyday, ordinary moments.

The works reveal the interweaving of female experiences, motherhood and family affiliation. The intimacy and coziness of the artworks is conveyed through small clay figurines depicting scenes from modern everyday life. Their form and content are often imbued with a subtle humor that creates a contrast between seriousness and lightness, emphasizing authenticity and naturalness. Placed in square frames, the sculptures manifest themselves as autonomous objects that, in a joint dialog, form a complex spatial installation that subtly opens up a space for reflection on the meaning of the seemingly insignificant.

In the interweaving of emotions, perceptions and reality, one searches for balance, tenderness and everyday beauty, whereby it is often the insignificant things that give life meaning. In a world where the conditions for a peaceful and secure life are unevenly distributed, the exhibition At the Same Time reminds us of the simultaneity of personal and global conditions. While peace reigns somewhere, chaos reigns elsewhere. This space between reality and hope also gives rise to an artistic narrative about the preciousness of the moment, which in its simplicity is the bearer of the meaning and beauty of life.
