Martina Zelenika MOON: MetaPerspective

You are cordially invited to MetaPerspectives – an exhibition by Croatian artist Martina Zelenika MOON on Friday, 21 August 2015 at 8pm at KiBela Gallery of the Multimedia center KIBLA.

The opening will begin with a performance by the artist together with acclaimed ballet dancer Albert Mircea Golescu and an opera accompaniment Ode to Humanity performed by Cameron Bobro.

Metaphysics as the science of absolute presuppositions implies the appropriateness of cognition: in a specific, ontotheological manner it reveals the argumentation behind man's perspective on certain natural primary principles. However, the prefix meta- also implies something essentially different: that it is the argumentation of this “beyond” upon which man’s orientation in the world that surrounds him really depends. And this world is, of course, entirely physical. Aristotle knew this, but his translators didn’t.

The interdisciplinary art project MetaPerspective by Croatian artist Martina Zelenika aka Moon is based precisely on this fact: that the post-physical is what substantiates the physical, and that it is, when perceived as such, indeed the decisive factor for the creation of new, in the case of Zelenika mutated and un-humanly proportionated creations. Moon as an artist synthesizes media and syntagms, combining the physical with the artistic: we can say that she merges the Here with the Beyond in a Transdisciplinary manner. In doing so she is not so much in search of a seeming, often inexistent harmony, but openly admits the truly dis-harmonic global hypocrisy, thereby pushing the observer towards a self-reflection of his respective social environment. We are what we are told to be.

The meta-perspective is of course the author's parallax of the social dis-order: she reflects upon it precisely because it does not exist anymore in modern times. The perspectivity of the view has become transformed into a meta-psychosis, and the latter into a metastasis of the modern globalization trend: to bereave the human race of what is human, and in turn, by implementing a cerebral meta-paralysis, to suck out its last tax-free drop of blood: the absolute, entirely non-metaphysical and individual Rh-.

Martina Zelenika aka MOON (1978) is an acclaimed Croatian artist. She completed the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and continued her MA study program at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, department of Video and New Media. She participates in various artist residency programs. Martina Zelenika lives and works in Zagreb.

Artist's statement
Interdisciplinary is the main characteristic of my artistic expression. I challenge time and space beyond; through science and spirituality I intuitively approach the realization of my artwork and thus lead the observer into a fluid and intimate experience. There are three ongoing projects in my opus that represent an important outline of my work: an interdisciplinary project named TAB_Leter through which I intend to explore the unknown boundaries within the communication fields of text, sound and image. It represents a new prospect of communication in the near future - today's digital age. Imprints outside the rules is a cycle that connects mathematics, astronomy and geophysics into a fluid perception of space. These large-format drawings represent impact craters, formed out of an ellipse, the so-called irregular trajectory. The latest and newest cycle Projections beyond refers to a new concept of the universe, which in physics stands for the holographic projection of the universe called Amplituhedron. Together with my own internal projection I am creating a new kind of humanoid mutants, which represent universal love.
It is a great honor and pleasure to be able to present for the first time the entire thematic concept intended to heal our contaminated society, with the exhibition MetaPerspective, where I am presenting the latest cycle at the KiBela Gallery in MMC KIBLA, Maribor. On this occasion I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the execution of this exhibition, as well as the Universe for bringing us together.
