We kindly invite you to the opening of the exhibition Drawn with Love by the artist Marjan Manček, which will take place on Friday, 3 June 2022, at 6 p.m. at Negova Castle, as part of the Festival of Love.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION (PDF)

Marjan Manček (1948), illustrator, comic book writer, caricaturist, and movie animator, received virtually all the most important illustration awards, including the Levstik Lifetime Achievement Award (2007) and the Hinko Smrekar Lifetime Achievement Award at 12. Slovenian Biennial of Illustration (2016). His caricatures were published in two European anthologies of cartoon humor and satire Opus International (Paris, 1972) and Satirikon (Berlin, 1980). He has illustrated more than 200 books (Mojca Pokrajculja, Kozlovska sodba v Višnji gori, Pedenjped, The Princess and the Pea ...) and created some cartoon heroes (Modri medvedek, Cufek, Medvedek Brundo, Dajnomir and Miliboža). He transformed Hribci, which was first published in youth magazines, into a cartoon in 1993. He created an animated trailer and artwork of the doll for the TV show Radovedni taček. He has designed some puppet shows and collaborated as an illustrator with many Slovenian poets and writers. He exhibited solo and in groups at home and abroad, and his films were screened at film festivals in Portorož, Belgrade, Krakow, Annecy, Chicago…

After the exhibition opens, Marjan Manček will present his works, and Tonja Jelen will moderate the talk. At 8 p.m. you are welcome to attend a concert by the group Patetico.

On Saturday, 4 June 2022, at 5 p.m., we invite you to the sparkling wine tasting Penina fejst, the castle culinary journey Cabinet of Love, and the talk with Feri Lainšček, moderated by Tonja Jelen. At 6 p.m. we continue with a workshop with a guided tasting of selected sparkling wine*, led by Jože Rozman. It is followed by three concerts. At 7 p.m. Ditka trio and Feri Lainšček, 8:30 p.m. Magnifico Balcountry Quartet and 9:30 p.m. Balladero.

On Sunday, 5 June 2022, at 5 p.m. welcome to a Sensory Dinner* with Bojana Križanec, Igor Jagodic and Jože Rozman.

Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For groups (at least 15 people) and by prior arrangement, the castle tour is possible even out of the opening hours/season.
