The RIXC Art Science festival continues to explore the transformative role of art in an era of social network and digitalization. This year's festival focuses on surveillance, privacy and control in the age of social media and immersive technologies.

The festival will be complemented by a contemporary media art exhibition, a performance program created by new media artists, as well as by a second edition of the international conference Open Fields. The first conference took place in September 2016, gathering more than hundred delegates from thirty countries, representing more than sixty art organizations, museums and universities.

Over the last twenty years, the RIXC Art Science festival has changed both its title and its course – from the early networked cultures of the 1990's and “art+communication” ideas, a shift now occurs towards broader art and science fields. The festival continues to focus on the most topical issues and themes in our society, and has earned international recognition and a special role on the map of northern Europe's contemporary culture over the past years.

Conference language: English.

The conference is organized in the framework of LV100.
